Racing came off well with no rain.
The Dan Curl Memorial twin 25's at the Charlotte County/ Punta Gorda Speedway is,was great no rain but WOW hot,12 of the "Outlaw mods" showed for this race after it being rained out the month before. Now days 12 is a big feild in most class's with the way$ is going these days. All the mods looked really neat and clean racers,no bums in this feild.
Racing was close but Doug Hopper #15 pulled into the lead with only two laps to go in the first 25 that one wreck near the begeinning of that race sent one of the two cars to the pits early.
There was about 1 to 2hr. of other well run class's between the two 25,and inverted finsh was used for the last race, always making a good show to see as the fastist work there way to the front. Was looking like #15 was not going be able get passed 3th tell a slip on the lead car chaged the running, but a yellow put him back agian and away it went. With the field no dout getting tired by near end #15 exaquted a clean smooth outside pass with 5 to go to WIN it all.
High 5 to Doug Hopper .
I had won this race myself at the first running of the "The Dan Curl Memorial twin 25's" back in 1997,so was fun to get to go see it still going on these many years later.
