  • And What A Night It Was!!!!

stands were packed, pits were packed, outside of the miserable heat the night was awesome... GREAT LATE!
I thought Richie Anderson would keep the lead but he had a little car trouble and Wayne Anderson is slick. he waits til the last few laps and moves in for the kill. and the kill he got! Felt bad for Randy, Waynes son, ... He hit the wall coming out of 4 and looks like he will have alot of work to do on that car. Just glad he wasnt hurt.
I also thought Big Daddy Dave Pletcher was gonna pass him ... think he would have with a couple more laps.
Joe Winchell and Dustin Dunn had car problems & i dont think Dustin even started. thats a heartbreaker. Long trip for them.
KEVIN AND STAFF!!! another well put together night! THANK YOU ALL!!! T~E~A~M~W~O~R~K !!!

Oh, i must compliment Mike Portman for a job well done. there were about 35 karts and they put on a great show. Mike ran ragged all night but it was worth the effort. Good job Mike.

Yes I must attest to that. It was an excellent night of racing in all classes. I hated to see Chris Scott get caught up in a tangle coming out of 4 and tear his car up good. Thats after going headlong into the tire barrier in turn one a few weeks ago. Also hated to see Josh Williams get caught up in the same tangle that tore up th #86 of Randy Anderson. All in all those that payed $10 to get in got way more than their moneys worth. We had over 100 cars in the pits and a packed stands. Good Job PGS!!!!! Bob...

It was a great night of racing. The track is looking much better, the stands were packed & the pits were full. Just wish they would get that outside AC fixed.

Thanks very much to the Punta Gorda Speedway for making Florida's "smallest" Racing Series feel so welcomed last night. We have been coming to Punta Gorda since 2007, and the fans and track staff always treat our racers and crew very well.

A huge field of 31 Champ Karts started the feature race last night in the Ron Letourneau Tribute Race, and due to the additional sponsorships we generated for this race, the Feature Winner collected $550 in Cash, a Glass Trophy, a Free Tire, a bottle of Moonshine, and a Free Powdercoating job! It was also one of our largest purses in series history!
