  • Midwest Dirt Mods........Have you seen this??

    Hi all,

I was flipping channels last night and came across a show called,"Heartland Thunder". Looking at the on-line TV guide i thought it was another weather related/stormchasers show. To my surprise, it was kind of like "Madhouse" but set in rural Kansas/Missouri stateline area. Characeter were not as extreme but, they did show alot more IMCA type dirt modified racing action from CMS (central Mizzou speedway). They obviously have a Hatfield/McCoy type relation amongst the ranks of 2 different states. I have no idea if this has already been talked about on here. I found it pretty interesting and they were definetly in depth on certain issues. I have know idea what it's regular schedule is but i will be sure to watch. Just can't get enough of this sport Thought you all might like to know.

I watched the madhouse series and I've also been tivo'ing heartland thunder. I like this one better, but it's still too much WWE type stuff for my tastes. The kind of attitudes and behaviour that they're playing up on these shows, to my mind, is making a spectacle of the worst part of our sport, not the best. I watch this stuff because I'm a race fan but the way these clowns behave is NOT the way I would want my kids or grandkids to emulate. I really believe that a lot of the stuff they show on the series is scripted to juice up the show. I find it hard to believe that real people would act like that on national tv and be proud to be portrayed like that. The powers that be obviously don't believe that the sport itself has enough drama and excitement to attract an audience without throwing in the WWE junk. Sad state of affairs to my way of thinking......................
