  • Hey Westerman...

Was just going through your Sunshine Speedway pics over on your Web site, and you posted a pic of Donnie Stanford's Carroll Construction car, but numbered as #68 (with duct tape). You stated you weren't sure who it was. I believe that's still Scarborough in the car, but they had to re-number the car for the All-Pro doubleheader in '86 at Sunshine, due to Sidney Minton already entering as #69. We ran that weekend with Donnie Strickland's All-Pro car, instead of our regular Late Model (the #12 with Wescott), since they (the LM's) were off that week.

    Hey Jimmy

I shot that pic july 87 ,it may be Scarborough, because it is more likely that I would take a picture of a more famous driver. the Tanner, Butler, Brazil and Childers are mine taken the same night, Don't know who won. Shoot me your e- mail ,got a few more sprint photos that night. if you want.

I'd actually like to see some more LM photos from that night, or from that season, really ;-) Childers won a few for us that year.

This is the car I'm talking about; it's the #68 LM on page 6 of the Sunshine Speedway page at FloridaStockCars.com. It's definitely NOT one of the "regular-bodied" Late Models of the day, since we were running the wedge-type cars that year. It's got a Reutimann Racing decal on the C-pillar, and the crew chief's name was covered up with a Boyd Racing Engines decal.

Looks like Brazil's in the #14 Sprinter; I see Wayne's name on Charlie Ledford's #1L Sprinter, and Scarborough was in the other Ledford car; Childers probably would've been in the Rudolph #68 car (I remember he won both a Sprint Car feature in that car, then hopped into our car and won the Late Model feature on the same night; got both Winner's Circle pictures to prove it ).
