We have elected to cancel the race for this coming weekend- 6/10/17. Although the weather appears to be improving for the evening hours- many factors have been considered in reaching this decision. As we are all aware- we have started "that time of the year", where weather is less than cooperative in relation to outdoor events. Unfortunately, according to the 5 independent weather forecasting sites that have been monitored every 30 mins today- it appears that the rain, and more importantly thunderstorms, will not be moving out until around 7 pm. Due to a very tight schedule for practice, heats, and qualifying - IF the weather did move out according to schedule, we would end up having to move the entire show later in the evening. This is a problem - as we have an 11:30 curfew. Additionally, because 4-17 Southern Speedway has many fans, drivers, and team members that drive from extended areas - we believe it is in the best interest of all mentioned, to allow those individuals the opportunity to make alternate arrangements, whether that be to participate at another facility, or simply spend time with loved ones. We appreciate everybody's patience during these past few days, while we have attempted to make the best and most educated decision. We greatly appreciate your support and input. Wishing everybody a safe and peaceful weekend. We will be holding open practice tomorrow from 3 pm - dusk...weather permitting of course.
