Attention Pro Trucks: Let’s Get Ready to Road Race! The Southern Pro Am Truck Series has solidified a pro truck debut at Formula & Automobile Racing Association’s Miami 500 (Homestead Miami Speedway) on November 28th and 29th, 2015. Pro truck drivers will be able to show off their racing talents and promote their truck series to over 20,000 national and international race fans!
This past October a handful of pro trucks made the open practice session at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. After the practice sessions, news reporters, FARA racers and race fans approached the Southern Pro Am Truck Series to inquire about purchasing and renting pro trucks. This is the perfect opportunity for you and pro truck’s sponsor to gain national and international exposure.
The Southern Pro Am Truck Series and FARA have made it easy for pro truck drivers and their race team to compete in this first and many to come pro truck road course race. The entry fee is $200 and $20 (with up to 5 crew members) to enter and park in the pit area. For those family and friends that wish to park in the general admission, the cost is $10 per car. The pro trucks will be pitted together and each pro truck team will have their own pit paddock (see attached Paddock.pdf).
Pro trucks will follow the same Southern Pro Am Truck Series circle track rules. Pro truck teams need to pay close attention to the safety rules as safety will be closely inspected. Series officials have made a few suggestions to help drivers with the road course. Some suggestions include placing the transmission cooler in an area to receive the most air intake and front left and right camber must be equal. All pro trucks will use 750 Hoosier racing tires, but please note that tires will not be available at the race track – BYOT. VP racing fuel will be available at the track, however it is not mandatory to purchase racing fuel at the track.
Pro truck teams should arrive between 7 am and 8:30 am on Saturday November 28th. Drivers meeting will start at 9 am. The first 25minute practice session for the pro truck division, also called FT-1 (Formula Trucks 1), will start exactly at 10 am. There will be a total two 25 minute practice sessions on Saturday, 10 am and 1 pm. Track will close at 5 pm.
Sunday, November 29th, the pro truck division (FT-1) will start their 15 minute warm up at 9 am. The pro trucks will line up to race at 10:30 am and will take the green at 11 am. There will be print, online and television media present to cover this event, so please make sure your pro truck is looking its best.
As this is an exhibition race for the pro trucks, first, second and third place winners will be awarded with a trophy and recognized by the media and race fans in victory lane.
