Got that out of the way...

For some reason this computor thingy won't let me post any where else, so I'll do it here.

After falling into extreme financial hardship (health problems) a couple of years ago, I gave my house to my oldest son so the forecloser proceding would be stopped. We have less than five years to go before it's paid off. Now that it is his house (he's been making the payments anyway) he found a young lady with a ready made family, and he wants them to move in. I have no problem with that what so ever. The only probem I'm having is that I feel they will be better off with me "out of the way".
This is kind of like a resume;
I was helping out at a dirt track about thirty miles from here (LaBelle, Fla). After trying, unsuccessfully, to talk the owners of the track to let me live there to be a full time live in maintenance man, I had to give it up.
YEA, I'M FREE!! DANG IT!! I don't want to be free. Sounds kinda strange don't it?
I digress.
I'm a fifty three year old living off Social Security. Retired due to a bad heart. Having changed my diet and being a little more active, my doctor told me to keep doing what ever it is I'm doing to keep my condition in check. So I plan to be around for awhile. I just have to take it easy and rest up a few times a day. I know my limits.

My reason for posting this is pretty simple. Just takes me along time to say it.
If there are any short track owners (my heart is in the dirt but...) that need a semi old fart to be a 24/7 maintence man and you have a condo, a five acre ranch or a brand new touring bus sitting on jack stands away from the nieghbors (gotta have a hot shower too) off in the corner of the property almost anywhere in Florida, I would be more than happy to occupy that afore mentioned structure and work for the track.

My plan for any track is as simple as this; The only pay for this service is a half way decent place to live. No utility, sewer, phone or any other expence out of my pocket. And above all, let me enjoy the races like a race fan should on race day or night.
The service I have to offer is common sence. Just let me do the common sence things that need to be taken care of. I hate time limits. If something has to be done as an extreme priority and I can't do it, I will be the first one to tell you. I won't lead you to beleive I can do it and then not get it done.
Like I said, keep it simple.
Keep the trash picked up. Cut the grass when needed. General repair of small plumbing problems and a little carpentry here and there. Install and or repair fencing. Replace or repair bleacher seats. Paint something. Drive the push truck. I was a front end loader operator and truck driver for twenty eight years so I have a little expeirence with a steering wheel and hydralic levers.
Unfortunatly I have to stay away from anything electrical, i.e; welding, wiring, powerful electrical motors and playing inside micro wave ovens.
I won't need a list of things that need to be done, I use my common sence. If a gate needs to straightened up, I straighten it. Got a problem with a bleacher seat needing replaced, I replace it. Need a door lock installed, and so on and so on.

I have my own cutting torches, cordless drill, hand tools, garden tools and riding mower. I don't have a crazy crack headed girl friend stalking me and I drink about a case of beer. Takes me a year to do it but I like a cold one some time.
I can't stress the point enough of how simple it is. Letting me do the things that need to be done with out time limits will make any race track a better and safer place for people to enjoy.
You don't get a secound chance at a first impression. Hopefully this first impression of what I'm trying to say is a good one.

Good Luck. I hope you find a track that works out. But go for a paved one if you have to. It's better then nothing.

I would be happy if any track were to contact me. Dirt or asphalt, it doesn't matter. I just want to be a part of short track racing some how.
Oh well, if I have to I'll sleep in the woods again..............
