  • Mother Nature WINS!!!! CCMP will be CLOSED this weekend

Punta Gorda got 1,100 lightning strikes in one hour on Sunday night, it was the most furious storm that has come through since Hurricane Charley. At least three or four twisters touched down leaving the track looking like it did in 2004. Dumping 4 inches of rain in the infield which now resembles Lake Erie. The lightning hit all of our electronics, disabling the PA System, Lights, Phone etc...... with her (MOTHER NATURE) wanting us the get ready for the FUTURE. We will be closed this weekend. We also will be announcing the GRAND OPENING date of "The Punta Gorda Speedway" (upon the Air Port's approval). So to all of you FANS and TEAMS please head up to Desoto, Auburndale, Citrus, or any other Short Track. We will be working hard cleaning up the mess (maybe for the next couple of weeks) and getting ready for the newest Family Motorsports Short Track in the South. Stay tuned for updates!

On Tuesday I was at the track with 4 26 foot trucks and had know problem at all loading all my asset the grass was dry no water in the infield. Had no problem removing the 7 speaker by the bleachers and the all the portable fencing was not damage in the building for me to remove my asset form there either. I used the computer in them office to check my e-mail on Tuesday also to get permits to remove my buildings.

Tuesday afternoon Kevin Had Bobby on the phone I do believe he was a bit upset on what I was removing from the track that was mine. This is what happens when you cut one business partner out of all conversations on a buyout was not a good choice for Kevin and Mike not talking to me I really don’t think Bobby told the whole truth on what I really owned.

All I can say is that in all the building I was in everything seem to be working just fine. But with filling 4 26 foot trucks up with furniture and equipment there really was not much left to operate for this weekend.

In all the time I was there till 7:45 P.M.nobody was working on anything??????
When I left there were 2 fastrucks there have practice the track was in good shape for this???? I heard that all the light work too all but one fuse was blown????

So what is the real reason they shut the track down for the weekend???????

          Enough!

Gary, I'm the only Negative Sarcastic person that can post on here.

With that being said: Take the High Road go direct with the new owners and inform them of what your spouting on here. You earned my respect and please keep it.... What your doing is lying in the same mud you both are slinging!!
Take the High Road, You have the respect of the racing community don't put yourself in that lower tier of human beings...

Bobby; Please adhere to the same advise. You made a run for it, did a decent job and now you've decided to move over I applaud you for that.
I will support the new owners. Enough already

didn't you answer your own question earlier in the post?

i was kind of wondering why i hadn't heard about all of this storm damage though. you get what Bobby said was going on and you'll normally make some waves in the news.

                never before

I have NEVER been on a forum before where there was so much hate, discension, and fighting goin on. Unless its the 'other racing forum" If I didn't know you all are a bunch of wimps, I wouldn't want to or dare to go to another race again!!! LOL Not that I go much anymore anyhow, and that is the reason. Come on people, what is it about racing that everyone has to be Mr. tough guy and hate everyone so much??? I mean, look at the Florida Sportsman forum, everyone helping each other, even people that don't have a clue who the other guy is! Show a little friendship and maybe others will get interested in racing, no wonder its going downhill more every day!! Damn!!!

I'm going to change Rexes name to bonehead, and I'll have to find a name for wing-ding. Maybe that's it wing-ding, or ding-a-ling... Will you guys STOP it....
