  • Would you approve.

Since the topic arose about approval ratings and I am stuck here at work at 5:15 pm on Sat. instead of making the trip to A-dale, here are a few questions that you have to ask yourself.

If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?

If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?

If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisors with people who cannot seem to keep current on their income taxes, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the fourth of May (Cuatro de Mayo), and continued to flub it when he tried again, would you have winced in embarrassment?

If George W. Bush had misspelled the word advice would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and potatoe as "proof" of what a dunce he is?

If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on "Earth Day," would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?

If George W. Bush's admini stration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually "get" what happened on 9-11?

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how he inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?

If George W. Bush had failed to send aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?

If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt --which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate -- in one year, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and given the unions a majority stake in GM, would you have approved?

If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?

Sorry to hear you missed Auburndale .
    1. Gordon Brown wasn't bothered in the least . If he wasn't i'm not either

    2. Again , she certainly wasn't bothered , so why should i be .

    3. Bush is very close friends of the King and i know you've seen the pictures of the two of them holding hands so i don't see much problem there either .

    4.Yes

    5.He did

6.Knowing Spanish , or any other language besides English is not a requirement for being President . In fact Bush didn't even do very well with English , but he was still President .

    7.I didn't " hammer " either of them .

    8. No

    9. The man who did okay the flight , the only one who needed to is no longer employed at the White House . That about covers it .

    10. A number of Presidents , and for that matter many important people use teleprompters , Bush frequently didn't , and it showed .

    11. What George Bush did to New Orleans is criminal . I'm not familier with any flood in the Midwest that never received any aid , not on any presidents watch . You'll have to fill me in on that one .

    12. If that CEO was about to bring down one of the largest corporations on Earth , and our economy with it , was told to come up with a plan and didn't bother to . Yes i would certainly approve .

13.If he had no other choice , i certainly would . Of course if George Bush still had the huge budget surplus that President Clinton had when he left office , the huge surplus that some other President blew through completely in less than a year , there wouldn't have been a need to increase the national debt .

    14. If it were necessary , i certainly would approve .

    15. To save one of the largest corporations on Earth , along with 10s of millions of jobs , you bet i would .

    16. That wouldn't be any of my business .Or yours either .

Ah now John , don't let me scare you . The people you should be afraid of are the birthers , and the conspiracy nuts who know that Democrats are planning to turn the country into a Socialist nation , and the people who know that no person of color could ever do anything but destroy our nation . And of course the folks that refuse to believe anything they don't get from the mother ship called FOX .Thats who you really ought to be afraid of John . Really

Why is it such a standard liberal response that every conservative watches FOX?

If I may let you in on a secret, the REAL conservatives think FOX is kind of a middle of the road media joke. They make conservatives look close minded and ignorant.

I stay away from TV in general. Newscasters have one job: promote themselves. They do that by getting ratings. They get ratings by being outrageous.

"Truth" is no longer a word that means anything to ANY news network. In the last 5 years I've been interviewed a few times for a few local issues. I've yet to find any newscaster that get's it right, or even tries to. They took whatever I said that was controversial and likely to stir up trouble and amplified it.

Here's what a true conservative wants:
1: The right to keep SOME of what they earned.
2: The right to fight and die for their country.
2a: ... and not to be humiliated for it.
3: A constitution that is followed, and not changed just for some trendy movement.
4: The right to be recognized for excellence.
5: The right to tell some lazy sonofabeetch to "go earn it yourself. I did it, why can't you?"

Fox is complete crap, but still less of a joke than the ABCBSNBCNBC axis.

as chris matthews would say. 'IT JUST BRING CHILLS UP YOUR LEGS" or something like that.

the quote is "I felt this thrill going up my leg" ... when he watches Obama. i guess it's a good thing Chris is in favor of homosexual marriage. he can still dream.

It scares me that you don't agree with this:

5: The right to tell some lazy sonofabeetch to "go earn it yourself. I did it, why can't you?"
So I have to work so you can have money? I work my ass off so you can have a big screen TV, a cell phone, iPod, cable or dish, and then you can still whine about not having healthcare.

                        Yeah that's America.

For one thing , that tired old stereotype of people on wellfare who have the latest in electronics is just that . A stereotype . Of course in the past it was a Cadillac instead of electronics . Now i don't doubt that you could find some poor people who could help you prove your point . And i could find many more who have none of those things . There are millions of working poor in this country , and they aren't lazy in the least . They just don't have the extra money to get health insurance . Or a telephone . Or a decent car .
I don't mind working hard and paying taxes so that people who need help get help . No one in a country like America should EVER go hungry because they can't afford food , or EVER suffer or die because they can't afford to see a doctor . And neither you or i , or anyone else i've ever known is smart enough to judge who is working hard enough and who isn't . Or who deserves help and who doesn't .
So lets just make it simple and take the route that the bible lays out for us . Every man is my brother , and its my duty to look out for him , make sure he has food to eat , a roof over his head , and medical care if he needs it . Thats how i live my life , you're free to conserve if you like that way better .

                              Ding Ding Ding

                              Round Three Coming UP.

In this corner wearing blue trunks (and wearing his jock strap backwards) is EDM... NOT an ex-marine, but a marine.

In the far corner wearing red trunks (and no jock strap, but wearing a helmet w/face guard) is an ex-marine.

Both winner and loser will go to the White House for a glass of lemonade with the Pres the day after they finish their fight (as if that will ever happen).

These two need to Jap Slap the hell out of each other, call it a draw and move on... as OCALA76 would say to both contenders - STFU ALREADY.

My money is on EDM (cause he said he'd pay me back if I'd back him / he never told me not to tell anyone, so I am telling the world).

Not sure about the guy in the red trunks - but he sure looks like he needs to be watched a bunch...

                              OSF: VP of STFU, International
Thank a Police Officer for what they do........... OSF:
