invited all FL short track champions to the White House like presidents do to teams that win championships. Would you go?

I know he will do a lot of damage to this country before he is out of office.

He's already making states start programs with their stimulus packages that will be broke in 2 years with no answer to where the money will come from then.

And Many thought DUBYA and CLINTON were a problem.

The real downward spiral started with Carter.

We can fix this country if everyone and i mean EVERYONE would stop pulling the Dem, Rep handle at all levels and rid our country of POLITICIANS, if not completely gone it will certainly get their attention to make them fly straight.

Adding to that we have the oldest congress in history made up of career politicians making decisions. That doesn't trouble anyone?

            no you don't.

then i would give the same answer i gave when asked this exact question in 1993.

there's not a snowballs chance in hell that i would accept. he is flagrantly and diametrically opposed to almost everything i consider important ... that is, when he isn't doing the typical politician thing and throwing one of his campaign promises under the bus.

to be fair, i wouldn't be much interested in meeting McCain either.

              the reason

or why I asked this question was, I read a few weeks ago that a player on the 2009 winning super bowl team would not go to the White House with the team when invited because of his differs with Obama views.

Please have your facts right if you are going to post. That player was James Harrison and he turned it down because he is an idiot. Here is the story.

Linebacker James Harrison told reporters earlier this week he'd be a no-show at the White House. He denied any political motivation for his decision. "This is how I feel — if you want to see the Pittsburgh Steelers, invite us when we don't win the Super Bowl. As far as I'm concerned, he would've invited Arizona if they had won," said Harrison,

This isn't the first time Harrison has declined an invitation to visit 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue — he turned down an invite from former President Bush after the Steelers won Super Bowl XL. "Let me ask you a question," he said Wednesday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "Why is it a big issue now that I'm not going if it wasn't a big issue the last time?

Like I said he is an idiot. Of course he would have invited the Cardinals if they had won. THE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS VISIT THE PRESIDENT.

THE SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS VISIT THE PRESIDENT.

what, this is a law now?

there is no requirement for any champion in any sport to visit the President. and Harrison is bright enough to realize that the only reason the President is doing this is because the President wants the face time on tv. he's not interested helping a President of either party bask in the reflected glow of what he's accomplished on the field. sounds like he's not being buffaloed by the BS to me.

maybe if the Bulls or the White Sox win you can say Obama invited them because he was a fan. otherwise he's just using the team.

guess you'd better count me as an idiot as well.

Well I am sure that the president needs the winners of a sporting event for T.V. face time....

I wouldn't say it is using the team I would say it is a privilege to visit the white house and meet the president. I'm sorry but if you are an american no matter who is in office that is a offer you should not turn down.

                        did I

use the word political. No. If someone that your spouse knows invites you over for a cook out and you and them have differ views on racing and you say I am not going because of that is that political. Of course if the food is free you might be a idiot not to go. However, what you stand means something to.

so, you'd have gone to visit LBJ after he refused to run for re-election due to his gross mismanagement of Vietnam or Richard Nixon just before he resigned?
