Just to clear a few things up about truck tech. The GM performance rep was at desoto for tech and let everyone know the 2008 books were not available. He had 2007 books and gave a new one to the tech officials that night. Also nothing had changed in the 2008 crate zz4 book. No one had a problem using the 07 book and it was never an issue in tech. It became an issue after the 10 truck was deamed illegal, go figure. The 10 truck was .5 of a cc over the additional 2cc's gm gave you for a tolerance. That doesn't sound like much but 1 of the 3 chevy heads that were teched was exactly 163cc and the illegal head ports did NOT look like the one that was legal. So it is safe to say the illegal heads were 2.5cc on the 10 truck over the stock casting.That is a big advantage when you multiply that by 8 cylinders. The 10 truck had a experienced veteran tech offical from a sprint car series in tech as his representative at Desoto and Carl Green as his rep at Lakeland. At lakeland Carl had no problems with tech. Don N. let Carl check all the tech tools and procedures as they were being performed. At Desoto, The 10's other tech rep never had an issue with any of the tech procedures on the 10 or on the 63 truck that was teched all the way to the crank staft. The 63 was legal. If the 10's tech man had a problem then he should have spoke up during tech after the race.And if the other team that gave george the money to tear down the 63 had a problem after tech, then maybe george should have had the money man in the tech area.To say the 10 truck had a stock sealed crate motor is not correct for fascar rules. In the rule book it states that a stock sealed engine must be taken to an APPROVED Fascar engine builder to be resealed by them. So no one knows where a motor has come from if the seals are not there from a Fascar engine builder.
As for poor george, if he wasnt so personal with his foul mouth when he attacks other racers, then maybe he would still be welcomed in the Fascar truck series an the other series he has been thrown out of. His mouth will keep him from becoming a great racer. He is a good racer as long as he keeps his composier on the track. When he loses control on the track he brings his frustrations into the pits and goes on the attack. George will let every one know what is on his mind, and when he continually threatens other racers that he is going to crash them out at the next race, the series has to step in. Things happen between racers on the track every saturday night, but some can handle it better than others. If fans of the 10 could see him in the pits in one of his attacks, i think you would be looking for another racer to cheer for. Just so everyone knows, George started the protesting at Lakeland, he was the one illegal at both tracks and teched by a nuetral tech man at desoto.
