a gripe about my home track

Its no secret, I really like Orlando Speedworld. But since this is the complainers corner I'd like to vent about the time required to get into the pits.

Last Friday, I got there at 7:45, and it still took 20 minutes to get signed in. The problem is that there is usually only one person working at the pit sign in. Yes, she is always nice and friendly, and yes, she knows what she is doing. But it is a job for more than one person, especially at that time when practice and the drivers' meeting have ended. Isn't there anyone who can wander over and help her out for the last half hour? What is it like earlier in the afternoon?

If I have people lining up to give me money, I'll always make sure there are hands available to take it as quickly as possible.

What you are trying to say is "capitalism supporter". By investing a little labor the track can turn some more cash. Its the American way dude.

this seems to be a problem at almost all of the tracks. i think my personal record is 1.25 hours standing in line to get in the pits. all of the tracks need to listen to this!!! open the pits at 9:00a.m. on (sat.) race day. have one person working the pit gate and let the cars and people in as they show up. at 10.00 per hour(for the employee) it is only 5 extra hours, if you normaly open at 2-3:00., no early practice, just let the teams go in and set up. with this system i dont think anyone would have to wait over 10 min. if the 50 bucks is going to kill any of the tracks, they could add 5 cents to price of cokes and burgers. bottom line, save racing, keep all customers as happy as you can. why not try to make it more enjoyable. it cant hurt. as far as a friday night show, this will not work, i would have at least 2-3 people in the booth, since it has to be for a short period of time. too many tracks really think they are doing you a favor by letting you in. i once paid for me and a friend to get into lakeland, 40.00 each back gate. the lady never said thank you. 80 bucks!!!!! i guess i should have thanked her for letting me give her my 80 bucks?? dont know??

no, i'm pretty sure i'm thinking of basic "Customer Service". in the same way that successful convenience stores keep enough staff at the cash registers and unsuccessful convenience stores ... don't.

something that would help a bunch with the bottleneck at the ticket window would be if they would run ~3 clipboards for each 'category'. the single biggest holdup is ALWAYS waiting for the next available pen or the next available FASCAR / VIP / Minor / General admission clipboard.

I have a gripe about my home track.

I drove by the other day. The Stands were gone, the fence and walls were gone. An excavator was on the asphalt digging it up.

Such a shame to see a 6 million dollar facility that was completed in 2000 already being dug up. People take care of your local facilities. Once they are gone you will miss them and would gladly put up with the crap you used to have to deal with. The nearest asphalt track to me now is 2 and a half hours.

If I may you are all missing the point, by making you stand there you get thirsty, hungry or both which increases the sales there. We are creatures of habit. It doesn't matter if they had 20 people there to take our money, we are going to give it to them regardless because we need to get our racing fix. I have been to the Snowball Derby several times and that is the worst. Lines like you would not believe, the only thing close being speedweeks at NSS.
I for one am just happy that my track is not an apt building or Super Target by now. I am sure one day soon with the way prices are going we will soon be huddled around a playstation wishing we could smell those tires again.
