Because people are stupid. No one on the planet lives a life that does not disrupt the environment at all. But they want you to believe that they do. They also want to crucify people that do not live by a lifestyle that they call "standard". This even goes to the post about the people picketing the porn store. Its not agreeable to "their beliefs" so they think that gives them the right to complain.

I have tried in my county to open a strip club. There is more red tape with got to be 1000 feet from a church, park, school, blah blah blah. But i see no statutes where a church has to get approval from me to build within 1000 feet of property I own. If i have to be so far from them to do certain things with my property, they should have to have my approval before they can justify the usage of my land with their new construction. Its all screwed up.

no, that'd be the Constitution that "gives them the right to complain". or at least recognizes it as inalienable.

not to mention, speech and picketing ( "complaining" ) is a whole different order of behavior than vandalizing or booby trapping property.

as far as the enviro whackos goes, they've been spiking trees and vandalizing construction equipment for decades now. check out "The Monkey Wrench Gang". no, don't buy it. borrow it or steal it, it's the only way to properly honor the Socialist ideals of the author.
