The voting is over and we have a new president. THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS, white, black, hispanic, & others, have voted. It doesn't matter whether you like Obama or not. He IS the President of the United States and we need to at least give him a chance and be supportive.
I can't help but believe that things have to get better than they were.
There is no room in AMERICA for predjudice anymore... We have FINALLY proven that. We have finally shown the world what we are all about...land of the "FREE" ......
Obama is not a drug dealing foul mouthed ghetto black man. He is a well educated, clean cut family man. He surely wants a better and safer America for his wife and children and those he loves.
I seriously doubt he wants anyone to attack HIS homeland... Well I just pray that God will help him deal with the many problems in our country and he helps us regain our strength in the world.
If we don't support and help him...then we have no one to blame but ourselves !

You don't have to bore me with the details of what socialism really is. I am a straight capitalist and disagreed wholeheartedly with the government so called bail out. I own two small companies. I do well at times and that is in spite of the government not because of it! I would do much better if the government left me alone completely. But now Obama has promised to punish people like me. People that worked hard all their lives. People that have taken risks to the point of losing every thing. People that have gone without paychecks for long periods of time so they could pay their bills and more importantly their employees. What happens when they punish me enough. I either go out of business or lay off employees. But I guess that would make you happy right?

So with your thinking let's put a real socialist in charge. Let me know when and where socialism has ever worked. Give me just one example. And go ahead and bore me with your details of what Socialism really is!

a - no, it's Socialism when the State nationalizes the banks and insurance companies.

b - the US .gov has not "purchased" any banks or insurance companies. we would have gotten something for the money we're throwing away if we had.

roundtracker, you seem to have two threads going here . Obama is a Socialist and Socialism doesn't work . Well the first one is easy . Obama is not a Socialist , never has been , and i don't anticipate him turning into one . Right now everything that Obama will do is pure speculation . We'll see whats what when he takes office and starts making decisions as President .
Your second thread is a little harder . I don't know of any TRULEY Socialistic government that has prospered . But there are many examples of Socialist like governments that have done well . Several Scandinavian countries come to mind . At least two South Seas islands as well . And of course Canada , while not really Socialist certainly has many of the programs .
At any rate we're a long , long way from Socialism in the US .

Honestly, is the economy really that bad, or is it that many Americans are just plain lazy? How many dont want to work? Read the paper, lots of jobs avail.
It may be that the greed and corruption in politics and wall street have finally come together and Americans dont want to invest their money. Gas prices is one of the main reasons for our problems. What have the democrats done to help this situation? I will answer that, NOTHING.
Welfare, if its not fixed, then we may never see a silver lining. Too many have found out how to work the system and if someone trys to fix it, they are a racist or dont care about the poor. I understand there is those who cant work but heres a new concept for those who can, get off your fat lazy asses and get a job.
