dangerous situation

The other day Jerry and I were driving in a car at a constant speed. On our right side was a 'drop off' (The ground is 18-20 inches below the level we were traveling on), and on our left side was a fire engine traveling at the same speed as us. In front of us was a galloping horse which was the same size as our car and we could not overtake it. Behind us was another galloping horse. Both horses were also traveling at the same speed as us.

I asked Jerry, "What must we do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?"

He said, "Get our drunk ass off this merry-go-round."
