  • Where does our 700 billion dollar go?

This pisses me off to no end. This whole bail out thing can kiss my ass. This is just a small quote taken from yahoo news.

"Days after it got a federal bailout, American International Group Inc. (AIG) spent $440,000 on a posh California retreat for its executives, complete with spa treatments, banquets and golf outings, according to lawmakers investigating the company's meltdown."

    I meant 700 Billion dollars

If you're mad now wait till they start handing out this years bonuses.

You know to satisfy the gov they will put a few heads on some plates and do a little firing..............after they give they guys their $18,000,000.00 severence packages......................................(or whatever it is, i'm probably close though)

Another thing to realize is the majority of these failed loans are on REAL PROPERTY and they still have them to sell in the future.

Tax, tax, tax is the governments cure to assure they can keep wasting money at our expence.

For the 1st time in my adult life i'm getting scared.

I am about to take a 2nd job to pay off everything i have in the next 2 years (house and all).because i don't want to owe anyone money or be in any kind of debt when i have to take a 50% pay cut just to keep my job. Or keep A job for that matter.

Hey Benny at least you are working bud... Many people are not so fortunate.... Especially if they are mid or senior career folks no matter what type of job or industry.... They are especially hit hard as the employers can hire newby and young folk for a whole lot less.... Have a great day all....

Fortunately for me is it is hard to replace me with a newby..I'm in construction estimating.

i am currently the only estimator on staff at a medium sized highway and commercial construction company, the owner also estimates.

But it has already gotten so tight he may have to reduce my pay to keep me on staff which is a last resort.

I know the market in Charlotte well and how our competitors will bid so i can stay in the range to grab up a job now and then.

What's bad is ALL us local companies are getting beat on jobs by companies a 1000 miles away trying to get into what is still a strong market area.

They will all merely break even looking at their bids and most will lose money by the time they're done.........just to get work.

I went to a pre-bid for a small (fill in) job this morning and there were reps from 25 contractors there when we usually only see about 5.

I't getting uglier by the day.

          I meant 700 Billion dollars

the Treasury Department pledged another 1.3 Trillion on top of the Congressional bill ( which the Senate boosted to 810 Billion btw ).

the .gov is also making moves to nationalize ( although they don't want to put that way in public ) all sorts of industries.
