this has little to do with our sport but alot to do with US...
doctors are giving out drugs (pills) like M&M's... serious drugs that alter the mind, erase memories, cause severe cases of depression and thought of suicide.
2 weeks ago i lost one of my closest friends to suicide. He was in a great deal of pain due to back surgeries and knee problems. his leg swelled like an elephants... for the last year he was given several prescriptions of pain relief pills. after a while the pills stop working so higher doses and more pills are prescribed. when that stops working, the patient becomes desperate and creative. they go to several druggists in several stores and then to the streets. now they are "drug addicts"... they are severely depressed and their world as they knew it crumbles. they lose jobs, they lose spouses, they lose self respect.
we are putting too much trust in doctors who are living in mansions and making ALOT of money thru drug sales people... at the expense of human beings who are in pain. we have been in pain since the dawn of history but never have we had a drug addiction problem in the proportions we do now.
Pay attention to what and how much your Dr. prescribes. look up the side effects online...ask questions... some of these drugs destroy your liver or kidneys while they do, in fact, help with other things. dont put ALL your trust in a doctor who hands out alot of pills and keeps increasing them or ordering more. if your dr. gives you 30 pills to last a month and you call him in 10 days for more and he simply calls in your scrip, something is wrong. he should ask what happened to the other 20! he should be concerned!
I am afflicted with diabetes and high blood pressure brought on by a severe weight gain a few years back. i have been prescribed more drugs that i can remember... some caused MORE weight gain, drowsiness, depression, and get this... elevations of sugar and BP!!!! the 2 things i was trying to cure!
so my question to the Dr. was...if i lose weight, i can get rid of all these problems and feel better. why not treat me with dietary help? duh? save the money on these dangerous drugs and find a way to help the millions of people who are food addicts! it is an addiction as severe as alcoholism and smoking... no one WANTS to look like a walrus!
I know this post is long but the problem is huge and we can help by putting a stop to the LEGAL DRUG DEALING! the drugs that are ruining our young people and killing others. my friend was 60... he left behind a loving wife, 3 daughters and several lovely grandchildren. his wife woke up and found him ... it was not a pretty sight and one she will remember the rest of her life. her kids just dont get it! their dad was their strength! how do you explain his final act to them?
i would rather cut off my painful leg than go thru what my friend did...and what his family are suffering. all because of unscrupulous doctors who make a ton of money dealing pills!!!! there are good doctors who believe in the Hippocratic oath... others who believe in the almighty dollar...
God bless and keep you all healthy and smart!

keep an eye on your loved ones. especially the elderly. they always trust in anything their drs. tell them. check out their meds and make sure it is easy for them to remember what to take and when....
if the dr. prescribes zanex, oxys, and others like them, be on alert. these are dangerous addictive drugs.....they are also "desired" so keep them hidden so teens etc. cant get ahold of them.... i think each pill is worth about $60 on the streets.... i personally would ask for another drug that does the same thing but not addictive. if drs. keep hiding the illness with drugs they can squeeze you forever and never bother trying to heal you... if you dont believe me do some research... i did. when my friend died i talked to the officer in charge of the investigation. he said drs. (not all drs.) are responsible for a great deal of the drug problems...
