This was posted on the CCMP board. Randy Spicer called me at about 11:30 am introduced himself. And asked how the weather was (coming from a promoter we are always are looking from the best out come of the question). I told him it was raining in North Port, BUT it was sun shine at the track. He explained he was coming from New Port Richie and it would be about a two hour ride. I told him to call when he was leaving. But if the rains hit us I would call and have him turn around. He said thanks and was looking forward to the race. I got so busy and it never looked like rain that I forgot to look him up to shake his hand and thank him for support the track. It was a $10.00 and never saw it so empty. But I can tell you the ones that were there got their moneys worth. Randy and the rest of the field put on some of the BEST RACING I have ever seen. Randy when to the out side and stayed. Terry Price is one of the toughest drivers we have at CCMP. And it was side by side racing throughout the field.
Jesse Dutilly just jumped out of his winning Mini Stock into the "Dean Butrum Tree Service" #32 to drive a close third. #21 Stuart Vandevender was strong , but had his him distributor brake. The blue streak of Logan Leonard ended up in forth. Sorry about getting so in to the race. At the end I ran down to the CCMP Winner’s CIRCLE to give CONGRAT's to all of the top three. WOW!!!! I finally got to me Randy in person. I shook his hand and said "Man that was one HELLA of a RACE!!!! He said thanks and enjoyed the track and all the racers he meet. So anyway here is his post from the CCMP message board:
From Randy Spicer the Driver (and I mean DRIVER) of the US AIR FORCE Chevy Monte Carlo
I just wanted to thank everyone for a fun time tonight.
I left work at 3:30 so we could make it in time for practice, thankfully the track extended practice until 6:30, which gave us time to practice and discover the car had a bent RR axle. Normally we would have loaded up and went home (don’t carry any spare axles). However the guys with the 21 car had the exact axle I needed and it even had the right wheel studs. Thanks for helping me guys.
Then we won the race on the last lap. Won $275
Then I broke an axle on the car trailer coming down the SUNSHINE SKYWAY BRIDGE on the way home. Had to call a wrecker to come and get the race car (tried all my friends but no one was answering the phone) so I could tow the empty trailer home. Tow bill $209
Stories to tell the for the next 20 years PRICELESS!!!!!
Its now 3:45 am and time to go to bed. Thanks Bobby for all the fun. What a night!Great story of "A day in a racers life."
Thanks Randy and CONGRATS to all the racer from last night.
To night we are promoting "STOP on RED" awareness and here is the line up:
Fast Trucks Pro Touring 50 Laps,
Open Wheel Modified 50 Laps,
Sportsman 50 Laps,

and those always exciting FAST Mini Cups
So if your not busy come on down (or up) and made watch another "Day in a Racers Life".
