The South East Champ Kart Series (formerly named the Desoto Champ Kart Series) will make it's 4th stop of the 2009 Season at Citrus County Speedway in Inverness, Florida on Saturday night, August 15. SECKS will visit 5 different stock car tracks in Florida during 2009 (CCMP, Auburndale, Citrus, OSW and DSS).
Unfortunately, since changing it's name, the series has suffered three straight rainouts....
As a result, the winner this Saturday night at Citrus County Speedway will become the first "official" SECKS winner. A short (60 second video) was created before last week's race (Aug. 8 at CCMP), that people unfamilar with champ kart racing might enjoy watching:

Two heats will be held on August 15. Each racer will draw a pill at registration, with the odd pills running in the first heat, and the even pills in the second.
The heat races will pay a total purse of $100! Each heat will pay $25 CASH to the winner, $15 CASH for second, and $10 CASH for third! ($50 payout for each heat)

Also, a $50 CASH award has been posted, for any driver who can win both his/her heat race, and the feature! This is IN ADDITION to the trophy, cash purse payout, and contingency awards (if applicable) that the feature winner will receive!
However, there's a catch....
In order to claim the "Clean Sweep Challenge" bonus of $50 CASH, the heat race winner must elect to start at the tail of the feature!!!
After the two heat races are finished, series director Phil Harp will meet with both heat winners in front of his trailer, to conduct the usual dice throw, to determine the inversion for the feature (if any). However, BEFORE the dice is thrown, each heat winner will be asked if they'd like to accept the Clean Sweep Challenge and start at the rear of the feature. If either or both decline the Challenge, he/she will instead start at his/her normal position (pending the outcome of the dice throw). A driver must also clear both the scales and postrace tech, in order to claim the bonus.
If the Clean Sweep Challenge $50 CASH is not claimed this Saturday night, it will instead roll over to the next event, until it is claimed! Thanks very much to the two sponsors who put up the extra money for this Challenge!

Bass Champions Challenge Series, Street Stock, Pure Stock, V8 Thunder Stock, 4 Cylinder Bombers and Mini Cups.

And, if the feature winner on August 15 has VEGA TIRES (any compound) on both the right front and right rear, and has a VEGA TIRES decal on his/her kart, he/she will win one free VEGA TIRE (800)!! This is in addition to the cash payout, trophy and other contingencies that the feature winner might also get for that night!! Also, please EXPECT THE TECH.... If you feel that removing your head, carb, shrowd, or any other part requested by the tech personnel after the race is excessive, then please choose another series or track to race with.
