This Saturday will be the first of three nights (7/25, 8/1, 8/15) that fans at the New Smyrna Speedway will have the opportunity to take part in Andrew Hart's 3rd Annual Backpack Drive to benefit Students in Volusia County.
Fans that bring a new backpack to the racetrack will get in for just $5.00. We encourage fans to throw a few school supplies inside to further help those less fortunate.
In a struggling economy, purchasing school supplies, including backpacks can put added strain on a family that is on a tight budget.
This will be the third year that Andrew Hart has collected backpacks to be distributed throughout Volusia County. The goal this year is to fill the back of the tracks Dodge Pace Truck.
The other two dates for the backpack drive are Saturday August 1, 2009, and Saturday August 15, 2009.
