  • Rogers Wins Night 3!

Great run from the outside pole for David Rogers. He was able to stretch it out while Anderson and Choquette fought to the death for second. That was actually one of the best races I have seen for any position in some time. Choquette was faster but ran him as clean as he could without wrecking him. Not sure if Choquette would have got Rogers - but Anderson held him up for sure. Great run for David - bought time he got back in to victory lane!

In the TBARA Dave STeele was absolutely sudden in his 91, nobody was even close to his speed. He could (and did) put that car anywhere he wanted on the track. Three wide going into the corner? No problem...Ridiculous performance.

AJ Currelli slipped by Jessica Murphy for the limited late feature, he nearly didnt make the feature as during the warmup a wheel was loose or something and he barely made it back out in time to start.

Overall good show, still seemed slow for 3 heats and 4 features 7:30 to 11.

Agreed, the racing was good tonight. Did you see Troy DeCaire pass David Steele in traffic? A yellow came out and it was not allowed to stand. It would have been a heck of a battle with Steele trying to get around DeCaire. These two started 11'th and 12'th.

Yes, Choquette raced cleanly with Wayne Anderson, but I watched Jeff spin out Johanna Long in the first corner at the start.

Yea, I noticed the same thing and was rooting for DeCaire as the underdog. Might have made it interesting with Steele, but I think the inevitable would have happened anyway. Watching those things stick anywhere in the corner was amazing. I wish they had a more competetive field top to bottom - that would be crazy.

Yea, Jeff clearly showed no respect to Johanna - I felt for her. Bowers slipped on the start and they stacked up with Jeff going low, he should have backed out of it. With the car control he showed with Wayne, there is no excuse for how he body slammed her. She will be back though. I hope she isnt intimidated, I dont know much about her, but, she hangs with the big boys in the panhandle - hopefully she returns the favor.

The quote on Speed51 was funny where Wayne went to yell at Query or whoever it is mentoring her instead of talking to her. She is gonna have to mix it up with the guys a bit if she is gonna hang.

I thought the racing was very good. Nice car counts and the late model & sprint features were action packed...I skipped the last of the Outlaws at Volusia to be closer to home and maybe have my head hit the pillow around 10:30. WRONG! I should have gone to Volusia they have really kept the shows rolling...Don't get me wrong the races themselves were good but the organization and fluidity of the night was not very good.

Bubba, Saturday night I hung out with the Hard Eight Racing team with Chad Kemenah. The owner was really nice and spent a lot of time talking to me and other fans! He even bought me a chicken on a stick...I'm even more a fan of that team now.

Thats funny Haud, I thought the same thing and that is why I went there Sunday too. 11 aint bad, but I had visions of 10 or so running through my tired head. Glad I went, good to see Rogers get it done and TBARA is a sight.

I have caught up with a few of the WoO guys who were fortunate enough to lodge in DeLand. They are usually tearing the cars apart early in the morning in parking lots making it easy for shmucks like me to bug them. Seem to be real nice guys, you really get a sense how much they put into it when you talk to them. The owner of Hafertepe's car was nice enough. I was rooting for Kemenah all week, never met him or the owner - what is the story behind the name - he win his money in vegas or something?

You going back this week? I want to catch the LMs and the Big Blocks.

Bubba I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm back to NSS tonight for the TBARA. If I hit Volusia it would be Wednesday because the late models & big blocks run together for $35 general admission.

Much aloha to the members of the Karnacian Band of Brotherhood (the KBB) that came over and said hello yesterday in the pits. I apologize for not having more time to chat but replacing the rear end on our car and all of the subsequent issues took up my afternoon and evening.

I did get a bird's eye view of Anderson and Choquette going at it since our hauler is parked right in the middle of turns three and four. Shame Choquette loosened Wayne up on the last corner of the last lap. They had put on amazing, hard fought clean battle up until then. You just knew Wayne wasn't going to give up every time Choquette got inside of him.

Also, if you're in the stands tonight, kindly cheer for Bobby Rose in the TBARA race. He was a big help to us yesterday.

Good racing but it's still taking to long. Would you believe Volusia got out the same time as NSS. Three 8 lap heats and 4 features should not take 3 1/2hrs. Especially when it's getting colder. Just my opinion. I'm getting ready to head back and hope it's a shorter night. Good show. billy

Tripper, who are you crewing for?

Haud, I will probably be heading to VSP on Wed as well, are you in the pits or stands? I will be sitting out tonight, wife has the flu and kids have all their stuff - so I am gonna be the taxi...The crate race could be a good one tonight - or it could take two hours - you never know.

I was glad to see the Dune Buggies back last night - then they crop dusted the whole track in the FL Mods. I can't count the number of laps the pace truck tried to blow off the high side in four - no cars were helping out the effort.

Yeah, I was standing in the infield in turn 4 watching every car avoid driving through the oil dry, and letting Barbara in the pace truck do it all. Waste of time! They should have sent someone out there to block the bottom groove and have the cars run up a few lanes.

I'm heading back tonight; the TBARA and the tour Mods will be a great show. Gotta get a little rest tomorrow, then to VSP on Wednesday.
