Four dead racetracks.Ok in theory only 3 with one in a coma.Ive been reading a little bit about the current fates of Kentucky,Iowa and Chicagoland Speedway's.And just for fun throwing North Wilkesboro into the mix.Wilkesboro is the 1949 part of the equation opening that year before closing in the mid 90s.Kentucky is the 2000 part with Chicago and Iowa holding the later opening dates.Four tracks, three of which held NASCAR Cup Series races and Iowa holding other NASCAR touring races.All four silent.North Wilkesboro with the biggest fan interest of re opening but falling down around itself.(Anything that falls down can be rebuilt)Millions pumped into constructing 3 other tracks that have held one lone event between them in 2021.Kentucky is a storage lot for new F-150 trucks waiting on semi conductor chips that are in short supply.The bank holding the note reports the payments on the facility are being made on time currently.Chicago looks to become new housing in the future and Iowa's one race this year can't keep it open forever.Pretty sad three tracks couldn't survive 2 decades despite millions pumped into putting them there while one saw use over six decades before being left to rot for the latest greatest thing.
