  • Fontaine wins at Auburndale

Chris Fontaine took the victory in the Super Late Model 100 at Auburndale Saturday night in a field of thirteen.Jon Guy set fast time and came home in the runner up spot.Joe Boyd finished third after pacing the field for the first half of the main event.Somebody needs to explain something to me though.Early in the event I noticed caution flag laps were being counted.Later in the feature they were not.Now I have seen races where the final twenty five laps or entire second half of the feature they weren't.But there was a caution flag that flew with around thirty plus laps to go, with no change to the lap count.I also noticed two times under green that the lap never changed on the scoreboard.I don't understand it and definitely am at a loss for an explanation so I'm happy I didn't have somebody with me that had never been so I didn't have to explain something I couldn't.Chase Lovelady finished fourth and Matt McCrary rounded out the top five.Nick Neri wheeled the #97 of Brian Dorer to an eigth place finish but had nothing for the top three. The night ended with a vicious hit in the Modified Mini feature which was called an official race on lap fifteen with Mike Kerrivan the declared winner.Rachelle Rudolph in the #77 had spun around on the front stretch short of the flagmans stand when the #8 car of Mike Prevatt slammed head on into it with parts and pieces flying towards the catch fence.Squads were arriving as I left and I'm asuming there were maybe drivers transported for treatment/observation.Hopefully all involved were ok.
