FOURTH HARVEST MEAT MARKETS FAMILY SAVINGS NIGHT THIS SATURDAY AT AUBURNDALE SPEEDWAY
Auburndale Speedway returns to action this Saturday night with the fourth in a series of Harvest Meat Markets Family Savings Nights. Harvest Meat Markets serves Polk County area race fans from five locations in Auburndale, Lakeland, Kathleen, Lake Alfred and Highland City and, as a part of the evening, concession stand specials will once again be featured including $1 hot dogs, popcorn and small fountain drinks or tea.
Racing will feature the Harvest Meat Markets 40 for the V-8 Bomber cars, The American Flag 35 for the Q Mini Stocks, the Salute to Dad Legend Car 25 and racing for the Scrambler cars as well.
James Wright III continues to set the pace in the V-8 Bombers as he leads the point standings over Danny Burchfield, Ronnie Abney, Eddie Hartin and David Purvis. There is a new threat in the class though as Cody McDuffie has owner David Hartin's new machine running in tip-top form and he collected his first win in the class last week after a great battle with Wright.
Chris Narramore, Jr.'s win last week really tightened up the race between himself and his dad Chris, Sr. in the Q Mini Stock division as they sit atop the standings ahead of Bruce Cozad, Fred Martin and T. J. Tanner.
Jim Smith has a pretty decent-sized lead over the rest of the Legend Car drivers with Kyle Pitts, Jade Hubert, Cale Nolen Seth Adams and the Verhaagh brothers, Mike and Mitch, giving chase.
Pit gates open at 4 pm with practice slated from 4:45 - 6 pm. Grandstand gates open at 5 pm and qualifying for the V-8 Bombers is slated for 6:30 pm. Racing begins at 7 pm with 8-lap heat races for the Legend Cars, Q Mini Stocks and Scramblers. Feature racing starts out with the 25-lap Salute to Dad race for the Legend Cars followed by the American Flag 35 for the Q Mini Stocks. The Harvest Meat Markets 40 for the V-8 Bombers is up next with the Scramblers rounding out the evening of racing by going 20 laps.
Adult admission is $15 with admission for seniors 55+ just $13. Children ages 5-12 are only $5 and all kids 4 and under get in free. The Family 4-Pack for two adults and two kids (5-12) is just $32, an $8 savings. Pit passes are $30 per person and all parking is free.
