WHEEL MAN SPORTSMAN SERIES HIGHLIGHTS CINCO DE MAYO NIGHT AT AUBURNDALE SPEEDWAY

Auburndale Speedway kicks off the month of May with "Cinco De Mayo Night" featuring 50 laps for the Brandon Ford Wheelman Sportsman Series. Fans are being asked to wear their best Cinco De Mayo outfit as you could win some cool prizes from the speedway.

Along with the Wheel Man Sportsman cars, racing action will also feature the Street Stocks, Modified Mini Stocks, Q Mini Stocks and the V-8 Bombers.

Devin McLeod of Zephyrhills, who won the first Wheel Man Series race here earlier this season, is the current point leader and will be in action along with Auburndale's most recent Sportsman winner and fellow Zephyrhills resident Brooke Storer. Recent Wheel Man winner at Citrus County Speedway Joe Winchell will be gunning for another victory. Other expected entries include Brandon "Bones" Duchscherer (again driving the TRM #54), Brandon Morris, Jesse Henley (a race winner this year too), Colton Bramlett, George Gorham, Jr., Steven O'Steen, Sam Cornman, Brandon Martin, Brett Jenkins, Jason Vail and several more.

Pit gates open at 3 pm with Wheel Man Sportsman practice slated from 4-4:45 pm with all other classes getting hot laps from 4:45-6 pm. Grandstand gates open at 5 pm and qualifying for the Sportsman cars is slated for 6:30 pm. Racing begins at 7 pm with 8-lap heat races for the Q Mini Stocks, Mod Minis, V-8 Bombers and Street Stocks. Intermission will feature an autograph session on the front stretch with the Wheel Man Sportsman drivers who will then immediately take to the track for their 50 lap event. 25-lap feature races for the Q Mini Stocks, Mod Minis, V-8 Bombers and Street Stocks will follow.

Adult admission for the entire evening of racing action is just $15 with seniors 55+ $13. Children ages 5-12 are only $5 and all kids 4 and under get in free. The family 4-pack is just $32 for two adult and two children’s admissions (a $40 value). Pit passes are $30 per person and all parking is free.
