  • Showtime April foolin part two

Now at almost 4 am and with all April 1st foolishness aside,an overview of the night at Showtime. The pits were pretty full.Fourteen cars started the mini stock feature, twelve started in Pro Trucks( thirteen qualified the black #5 Griffis truck did not start)seventeen street stocks ran their feature.Eighteen superlates qualified. Nineteen actually raced....sort of.Wayne Bowman had a two seated super late out bearing the #33 in tribute of Dave Steele. For a fifty dollar donation to the family you could get a few very fast ride along laps between races.Yoho raffled one ride along off with a starting bid of $250.The eventual high bidder got to strap in beside Bowman and the wide eyed passenger started the feature in the car with Bowman from the tail. They got in six laps before the leaders eventually caught up to them at which point Bowman pulled it in the infield. Yoho also announced tentative plans to hold a race ON A WEEKDAY the week of the Steele benefit posted on this board to take place April 30th.So watch closely for further details from the speedway.Good car count tonight unfortunately the crowd really didn't match it.It's a shame because at this point of the season Yoho is bringing in the better overall car counts and the two events I've been to this season the racing has been close. Two other notes.I think every race had 999 laps in it tonight as that was what the lap counter on the scoreboard said all night.lol And the national anthem did stop playing about the middle of it with the crowd singing the conclusion.Good night of racing in the end it was worth the drive.
