Auburndale FL. 3-21-17 - Track promoters Rex & Colette Guy announced today that Rick Bristol will be named the new Marketing / Promotions Director at Auburndale Speedway. Bristol replaces Bryan Pease who has accepted a new job in the Sebring area. " Bryan did a great job for us, we appreciate all his efforts and hard work in building some great relationships and we wish him luck in his new endeavor. Bryan is working with us to coordinate a smooth transition with Rick and we appreciate that." stated Rex Guy.
The Guy's moved quickly and called Rick Bristol and asked first for help, but then introduced the idea of coming to work there. Bristol a veteran in the racing scene in Florida since 1988 considered the move and met with the promoters and they have reached an agreement. Bristol will begin some duties today, while still working out a notice at his current job. He will begin full time status on Monday April 3rd.
" We are excited to have been able to handle this in a short time period, so there can be a smooth transition. We feel with Rick we add several things that will help us. He has run and promoted tracks, several of his own series and events over the last 32 years and he has over 25 years of management experience. He is well respected and trustworthy and that gives us comfort knowing if something happened where we had to be gone, we know he can handle running the track and events for us. Rick has already established relationships with many of our marketing partners while doing his Charity Race Weekend and taking part in several of our events. We feel the transition will be smooth and we are excited about working together for the future of Auburndale Speedway" added Rex and Colette.
" I am looking forward to the opportunity, Bryan and I have become friends this last year and a half, I think many of things he has done are great for the track and I look forward to expanding on them, while starting some new relationships and things for the track. Rex and Colette were very gracious and we have had a really great relationship since coming over here with our charity race nearly 6 years ago. I want to do my best to help, make things better and promote and market the track in a positive light in the community. I have formed friendships with many of the marketing partners and I look forward to now working with them closely as we do some great, fun things to help each other. I look forward to helping on the racing side as well, when needed. I love racing I have been around since I was 3 years old, racing and working in it for near 32 years now so I look forward to another challenge" stated Bristol
