Yes race fans, it was the last race of the season at Capitol Speedway, a 1/4 mile dirt track outside of Willow, AK.

The Racing:
John Clemmons pretty much had them covered in the Sportsman class in his good looking black Monte Carlo, as did Jeff Wallace in his equally sharp #55 Sprint car.
The Story:
Alaska is a hard place to survive, and the locals are tough survivors. Yet somehow they have managed to acquire racing cars and parts and hit the track when they can. The racing was good, but the "howdy neighbor" attitude was even better.
If you make it up to the "Last Frontier", check out Capitol Speedway, you will be glad you did.
