Announcing Dirt Race Rules, Schedule & Procedures for Oct. 3-4th
- North Florida Speedway Dirt Rules Package
The following things will be allowed to be done to your trucks for this race. We will make adjustments for the second dirt race dependant on what we see from this one.
1. You may remove 1/2 or full windshield and replace with wire mesh.
2. You may add fine mesh screen over front air box screen, and brake ducts.
3. You may add an additional transmission cooler for this race.
4. You may run an air cleaner pull over screen cover.
5. You may want to put a chip in as to not over rev on the dirt 6500 recommended chip. That is your option.
6. You must add an air deflector, lexan (6" high x 18" long) in front of windshield 24" from window base / center of dash directly out in front of driver. You may bend a 90 degree mount on bottom, or add a metal 90 degree mount. Must be pop riveted with a minimum of 1 per 2 inches. Or can use small nuts & bolts.

Received this from Joey and we will allow this for the dirt race in October and you will be able to use next year as well.

I was doing a little more thinking on the dirt deal. I think it would be good to let those guys run some Outerwear filter covers on there air filter elements for sure. That would save them a lot of time cleaning them out after every run and help keep the carbs clean too. Also, in ARCA we were allowed to run Outerwear material over the front grill screen to keep dirt from getting all over the radiator as well. That will help the guys that are running electric fans out too. Remind the guys with electric fans to keep them as clean as possible so they don't lock up.
For the Outerwear for the grill screen, I think you can call them directly and order a sheet of it that can either rivet or just velcro to the outside of the nose.

We will run the same tires, as we do now, we will allow the following grooving.
Front Tires - Every 2 inches at a max 20-25 degree angle across the tire
Rear tires - Every 2 inches straight across tire - no angle
Same depth as the regular grooves already in your tires.
The track has a groover can help groove tires at track Friday or Saturday ! You may purchase 2 new tires but remember you will be grooving them, so you may want to just pick 4 older tires for this race and save your others. If your buying 2 tires you will need to get from one of the tracks near you that sells our tires. Track will not have our tires at this race.
You may only run the standard type shocks & springs we run now. Keep it simple, keep costs down. If I see any special dirt style shocks or exotic springs etc. I will make you remove them.
Schedule & Format:
Friday night Oct 3rd Practice 7-10 p.m. $15 per person, you may stay the night.
(Drivers from July12th Trip will be admitted free for practice) Rick has the list
Saturday Oct 4th
3 p.m. - Pit gate officially opens
3:30 p.m. - Tech & Registration
6 p.m. - Drivers Meeting
Hot Laps follow the drivers meeting
You will only get 2 - 6-8 Lap sessions - Other divisions get 1 session 5-6 laps.
We will draw for first feature lineup !
Winner of the first feature will draw for inversion no more than 9 or half the field. Pill numbers determined by truck count.
