Joey Coulter Florida Pro-Truck Series announced
1-14-14 - Nascar Camping World Truck Series driver Joey Coulter wanted to see the Pro-Truck series in Florida continue and be successful, as it is where he started his short track career after go-karts. Coulter was committed to a 8 race series with Rick Bristol and Citrus County Speedway, but wanted to have a series going to other tracks. He asked Bristol to reach out to see if they could put together a deal with the other tracks and head the series up.
After some communication we are pleased to announce the cooperation of Citrus County Speedway, Auburndale Speedway and Three Palms Speedway and working to finalize another track and even a dirt event at as part of the series. A 14 race series is the plan. Rex Guy and Rick Williams in cooperation, and to work with Coulter and Bristol have agreed to release the trucks from the FUPS brand as they believe it is best for there to be just the one series so it can grow and be successful. Coulter brings credibility to the series and Bristol is Coulter’s choice to head it up. The full schedule and final tracks will be released in the next couple days but the first race will tentatively be March 15th. This has come together quick, so please allow us to finalize it.
In cooperation the series will run under same type rules, the tech will be done by each track and Bristol will over see it, the race directing, working with the track personel.
He will also oversee the logging of the tires as there will be a tire rule for the series to keep costs down and competition exciting. The formula is proven to work. Bristol will handle the points, points fund, media and promotion of the events. A banquet will be worked on, and a website will be up and running by March 1st to post info, points, results, rules and more !
