I like what I have seen out of NSS with regard to SLM and the new Pro LM move over that last few yrs. The Gov Cup is a real success of late and next year promises to be even better.
They have seen what is successful elsewhere and are trying their best to duplicate. The crowd (in the stands anyhow) is an indicator that they are putting things together. We rolled in right around 7 expecting to have our pick of seats in the top row and were relegated to Turn 1 seats.
On a side note - try changing up where you sit at the track every now and then the perspective change makes a big difference. Watching Cope and Russell try to out brake each other and jump in behind Scofield was interesting to say the least.
I think the alliance with Ricky Brooks is starting to pay off. Hopefully the CRA alliance for speedweeks will give folks the nudge they need and the Pro Late model rules will do the same in short order.
Honestly, if NSS can return speedweeks to some sort of glory and keep the gov cup going strong (maybe even get the BH series more appealing 100 lappers is a good start), they will have two premier events bringing enough $ to hopefully run the weekly programs with some strength.
