  • Just a thought about how to make the Coke 400 more exciting????

Let's have some fun and see if we can come up with ideas about how to make it EXCITING!!!! I agree that sometimes the Super Speedways are boring. What if they ran the Road Course at Daytona for the July race? Take off the plates (it who give them the 700+ hp), then you would have the drafting problem solved (because it would be hard to hang together through the in field section and the Back stretch would be a challenge as well), they could use their RCR (Road Race Cars) more than the two races. And let the "BOY'S HAVE AT IT" mentality out, then Juan could really get a chance to show his talent. Just a thought????

    What's in your thought????

They need to change the front bumper design to one that will not allow bump drafting or pushing.

Bobby, that is a heck of a good idea. Although it has a 0% chance of happening, it doesn't change the fact that it would fix the lovebug draft problem.

Give the fans paintball guns with a limited supply of paintballs, 100 for example, and let them shoot at the cars. It would have to be controlled so they could only do it when they are at speed and under green.

Short of eliminating most of the banking, which they never will, your idea is the best. I do like Bobbys idea but again, never will happen. As far as that goes, none of these ideas will happen.

Does anyone else remember the days of Kilwikiky, Elliott, the Allisons, Earnhardt sr? I remember every yr in doytona the Chevy guys would cry about unfair advantage Ford had and visa versa. I remember when Ford dropped the Thunderbird and showed up in a Taurus, Earnhardt said, "What is that"? He had to, thats was what he was supposed to do, just as the Ford boys were supposed to do about Chevy. These cars were much more stock than the cookie cutter cars of today. And Elliott ran a lap of something like 215 MPH. I said ABOUT. All of this is why we have cookie cutter cars, as they have been called. NASCAR got tired of all the crying and whining about the compititions cars., and the threat of cars flying into the stands. Some say remove the plates and let them race, great idea, but they better set the seats back about 100 ft. I honestly do not think there is a way to make the races on these big, high banked tracks fan safe and interesting at the same time. Unless we go back to 390 hp cracker box cars like in the 60's. Its so bad the drivers even say, we'll just go to these track, get them out of the way and return to more realistic racing. I personally think NASCAR is unreasonable to subject these drivers and teams to this type of racing.

With all the demolition derbys, figure 8 racing, school bus racing, why would anyone need to go to Daytona to watch the same thing, and then call it boring. If your a fan that loves big wrecks then these races are good for you, but if you like racing, its very boring.

Drop V 6's in the car and make them have to sling shot around each other

                        No CoT cars
                        No restrictor plates
                        Make stock bodies mandatory
No aerodynamics except for a rear spoiler

Split races into two halves. For the first half the starting lineup is determined by handicapping based on past performance. First few weeks are by luck of the draw until enough stats can be accumulated to begin handicapping. No more time trials.

Reverse the finishing order for the starting lineup of the second half.

Whoever has the highest points accumulated from both races is declared the overall winner and so on down through the 43 cars.

These changes should pretty much guarantee great racing for the fans throughout the event. No more boring racing.

Block off most of the track and were pit road and the front strech make a oval. Put them in legends.....It is not racing with crybabys and $250,000+ cars.
