\n\"frankkimmel2007.jpg\"Variety is the name of the game with race fans, and on Tuesday fans will be treated first to a visit with 8 time ARCA champion Frank Kimmel<\/strong> to talk about his monster Street Stock race at Kentucky Speedway<\/strong> paying $10,000 to win.<\/p>\n

Kentucky Speedway<\/strong> will host the Frank Kimmel Enduro Invitational on Saturday, June 2.<\/p>\n

According to the speedway, this first foray into grassroots racing will be promoted through a joint partnership between the soon-to-be eight-time ARCA RE\/MAX Series champion and the speedway. As many as 300 drivers are expected to battle for a $10,000 first-place prize in the first-of-its-kind, 100-lap, 150-mile event created to give local racers the opportunity to compete on one of racing’s greatest stages.<\/p>\n

The field will be set by a blind draw and the race will include a mandatory pit stop on Lap 51. The $25,000 total purse is believed to be the country\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s largest for a street stock event.<\/p>\n

“Cars in this event will be street stock, sportsman or bomber models that date back to the 70s driven by competitors representing local tracks from around the country,” Kimmel said of his first promotional effort. “Twenty-five years ago, these were the type of cars that raced on the top tracks. I’m partnering with Kentucky Speedway to organize this race because many of these drivers would never have the opportunity to race on a track such as this otherwise. This is their opportunity to bring their home-built racecar to this track and drive. It will be quite a show.”<\/p>\n

Short Track America’s Tuesday night Real Racin’ USA broadcast puts the spotlight on Beau Slocumb<\/strong>, the Georgia<\/span> racer who won the ASA Late Model Watermelon 125 this past Saturday.
\nNot enough variety? How about three time IHRA World Funny Car Champion Rob Atchison<\/strong> joining hosts Craig Clarke, Rick Anges and Jack Smith. Also Immokalee Dragway<\/strong> (Florida<\/span>) owner and promoter Ralph Hester<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Last week Auburndale Speedw<\/strong>ay near Lakeland, Florida was taken over by new owners. After five years of operation under less than stellar ownership, race fans in Central Florida get a new lease on life under the Guy family. Rex Guy will join Real Racin’ USA to talk about the changes in store for drivers and fans.<\/p>\n
