This was Williams first start in the ASA Late Model Series.

In the early going Choquette jumped up to third and ended up finishing third, leaving North Carolina with the Division points lead. Choquette took the lead from Sean Bass, after Bass wrecked into the turn one on lap 22 of the 125 lap green flag only event.

Shortly after the Bass wreck, a major blow to many of the top teams in the series were deal a serious setback, when on lap 36 a huge pileup happened in tour four of America’s fastest 3/8 mile speedway.

The red flag wreck started after contact between David Wilson and Chris Fontaine and also involved Travis Cope, Brandon Johnson, John Wes Townley and Travis Wilson. Brandon Johnson and Travis Wilson were eventually able to get back on the track but many laps down to the leaders.

David Wilson, with a stellar veteran crew headed by Dick Anderson, apparently had a stuck throttle which was blamed for a hard wreck into the wall later in the race which tore the front end of his car apart.

Sean Murphy, starting from the second row, and wanting a win badly after his mis-adventure at Bristol in the Challenge Division last week, tried for over 50 laps to get by Williams using the low side of the progressively high banked speedway. He eventually used up his tires and had to settle for second.

Very few drivers were able to be effective on the low groove, one of them being Jeremy Gerstner with his best outing of the year. Gerstner, a veteran racer from Wesley Chapel, Fl, started 19th and drove to 8th spot.

The hard charger however went to another Florida veteran. Tommy King from Bartow fouled up his qualifying and after starting 22nd, drove the unsponsored King Motorsports entry all the way to fifth for his best ASA finish.

The new points leader Choquette said after the race, “Hopefully we can keep going, just keep knocking on the door and hopefully one of these times it will open up for us.

Orange County 125 Presented by FLF Racecars UNOFFICIAL Results
Pos.,Start,,Car #/Driver,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Laps,,Status
1,,,,,,,1,,,,,,,,40 Corey Williams-R,,,,,,,125,,,,Running
2,,,,,,,3,,,,,,,,32 Sean Murphy-R,,,,,,,,,125,,,,Running
3,,,,,,,7,,,,,,,,170 Jeff Choquette-R,,,,,125,,,,Running
4,,,,,,,14,,,,,,08 Beau Slocumb,,,,,,,,,,,125,,,,Running
5,,,,,,,21,,,,,,16 Tommy King-R,,,,,,,,,,125,,,,Running
6,,,,,,,23,,,,,,33 Dillon Oliver,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,124,,,,Running
7,,,,,,,9,,,,,,,,5 Wes Burton-R,,,,,,,,,,,,,,124,,,,Running
8,,,,,,,19,,,,,,70 Jeremy Gerstner-R,,,,124,,,,Running
9,,,,,,,18,,,,,,98 Zach Taylor-R,,,,,,,,,,,,124,,,,Running
10,,,,,24,,,,,,86 Jimmy Lang-R,,,,,,,,,,,,123,,,,Running
11,,,,,17,,,,,,8 Michael Seeright-R,,,,,,,123,,,,Running
12,,,,,22,,,,,,127 Kyle Maynard-R,,,,,,,123,,,,Running
13,,,,,25,,,,,,93 Rob Partelo-R,,,,,,,,,,,,,123,,,,Running
14,,,,,15,,,,,,12 Tyler Townsend-R,,,,,,120,,,,Running
15,,,,,2,,,,,,,,140 Taylor Satterfield-R,,,108,,,,Mechanical
16,,,,,20,,,,,,3 Brian Blum-R,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,95,,,,,,Mechanical
17,,,,,6,,,,,,,,41 Brandon Johnson-R,,,,83,,,,,,Running
18,,,,,5,,,,,,,,83 David Wilson-R,,,,,,,,,,,,74,,,,,,Accident
19,,,,,13,,,,,,62 Travis Wilson,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,55,,,,,,Handling
20,,,,,16,,,,,,75 David Odell-R,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,51,,,,,,Mechanical
21,,,,,8,,,,,,,,47 Chris Fontaine-R,,,,,,,,,,36,,,,,,Accident
22,,,,,11,,,,,,26 Travis Cope-R,,,,,,,,,,,,,,36,,,,,,Accident
23,,,,,4,,,,,,,,09 John Wes Townley,,,,,,,26,,,,,,Accident
24,,,,,26,,,,,,30 Preston Walker-R,,,,,,,,,35,,,,,,Mechanical
25,,,,,10,,,,,,28 Sean Bass-R,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,22,,,,,,Accident
26,,,,,12,,,,,,133 Greg Stewart-R,,,,,,,,,,,21,,,,,,Accident

Lap Leaders: 40 Corey Williams-R Pole-125.
Cautions: 9 for 0 Laps.
Time of Race: 1 Hour, 17 Minutes, 45.669 Seconds

Corey Williams came down south from Boothbay, Maine and drove the David Stremme Racing entry at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC. to victory from the pole position.
