Auburndale Speedway was once a bustling 1/4 speedway with huge car counts and packed grandstands. That is what new ownership and new race management want to see again. The speedway, located in central Florida near Lakeland, was recently purchased by the Guy family and has brought Ronnie Sims on board to get the race program  back up to speed.

On hand Tuesday night at the Snook River Grill will be Rex Guy, representing the ownership, along with  Ronnie Sims and Harold Crooms who is promoting a big modified event at the speedway in October. The event is to honor Harold’s father who raced at “A-Dale” for many years.

Beginning this week Real Racin’ USA will feature a full half hour of news and interviews from the exciting world of  the All Harley Drag Racing series. These wild racers fly down the 1/4 mile at over 200 mph on two wheels (or less). Steve LeTempt, announcer for many events on the series tour, will co-host the segment. This week highlights the recent show at Commerce Ga., the Stone Mountain Harley-Davidson Southern  Nationals.

Rick Day, former Florida SARA series promoter and former GM at San Antonio Speedway, says he might have something to say about the politics in racing. San Antonio Speedway closed earlier this year, reducing further the short track racing scene in Texas.

A preview of the upcoming Triple Crown races at USA International Speedway beginning on June 2. We will have an update on the new ownership at USA International Speedway and what it means for Florida racing. Gene Crane is scheduled and perhaps some interesting surprises are in store for listeners. Why is it called Triple Crown anyway?

Also on June second the ASA Late Model series returns to Georgia, and promoters from the South Georgia Motorsports Park are lined up to give us all the details.

Real Racin’ USA  will have a special starting time of 6:30 PM this week and as usual the show is over at 9 PM.

Real Racin’ USA is live in the studio at the Snook River Grill every Tuesday and fans have come to expect some surprises each week.

harley.jpgShort Track America’s “Real Racin’ USA” is getting straightened out. That’s right, after years of covering circle track racing and giving occasional time to a drag racer, Jack Smith, Rick Anges and Bill Green have seen the light.

Beginning on May 29 the highly successful weekly “Real Racin’ USA” broadcast will begin featuring a full half-hour of “All Harley Drags”, covering the men and women who drive the world fastest motorcycles in competition.

The sanctioning body for Harley drag racers, the All Harley Drag Racing Association (AHDRA), has grown into a national organization that hosts 250–450 competitors and between 7,500–12,500 spectators per event. This extreme sport is the most unique in motorsports today, giving fans direct access to competition. Each event ticket allows the fan to circulate through team pit areas and observe the teams working on the motorcycles. Much more information is available on the AHDRA web site at www.AHDRA.com.

Real Racin’ USA is broadcast live each Tuesday evening from 7-9 PM, and knowledgeable fans know to tune in at 6:30 as you never know what to expect from the these pioneers of Internet based motorsports talk shows. The show originates from the Short Track America room at the Snook River Grill in Bradenton Florida. In front of a live audience of race fans the team of Rick Anges, Craig Clarke, Scott McAllister, Jason Beckner, Rick Auriemma and Jack Smith bring exciting motorsports personalities and topics to race fans all over America.

Show producer Jack Smith summed it up this way, “We know there is a huge audience of drag racing fans out there and we want to bring them something new and stimulating, and we think we can do that, especially teaming up with Steve Letempt.

Steve LeTempt, the voice of the IHRA, also announces events for the AHDRA, and will be doing just that at the Stone Mountain Harley-Davidson® Southern Nationals at Commerce, Georgia on May 26-27. LeTempt will be involved in the show in a big way and will a co-host for the “All Harley Drags” segment.

Short Track America streams news and race information 24 hours a day, and of course a stroll though the archives will present to the fan with an endless supply of great interviews with the stars of motor racing conducted by knowledgeable hosts, who aren’t afraid to ask the tough questions.
