From the monthly archives:

September 2006

With over 50 race fans in attendance last Tuesday night at the third episode of the Real Racin’ USA at the Snook River Grill, it was not only a blast to do but to see the looks in these kids’ eyes, the determination, the commitment, gave us a real sense that there is indeed a great future prospect for circle track racing in America.

This week the guest list includes Jennerstown Speedway promoter Larry Mattingly. Jennerstown is one of the finest NASCAR santioned facilities in the country and hosts the second Hooters ProCup Championship series event on Saturday, Sept 30.

Dave Mader III will joining us from his home in Alabama for a special glimpse into a racing career that has spanned decades and seen it all. From the Winston Cup (yes, that’s what is was) to all the top Super Late Model races in the south to ARCA racing series and much more. This is one you won’t want to miss.

Super Late Model racer Scot Walter, coming off back to back All American Challenge Series wins, is another driver who has been around the racing world and seen a lot of pit stop, having spent several years racing the gritty NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.

Short Track America continues to break new ground in the Internet broadcasting arena with the announcement last week on Real Racin’ USA that it is set to broadcast the entire 12 Hours of Ocala show live via the Internet. While there are many details to be worked out, there are no serious technical issues to overcome, and Bill Green, Jack Smith, Rick Anges, Scott McAllister, John Berti and others will be involved in the actual delivery of the 12 hour show.

Short Track America feels “this is a way to make the 12 Hours of Ocala really big, giving it the nationwide audience deserving of such a bold stroke by Ocala owner Mike Peters and his General Manager Lou Trembley.”

The 12 hour race is set to run from midnight on Friday night October 20 and conclude at Noon on Saturday. The car with the most laps wins a guaranteed $5000, with $1000 for second, $750 for third, $500 for fourth and $250 for finishing fifth.
