CHARLOTTE, NC (October 22) – Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials recently announced the weekend schedule of events for the upcoming 8th Annual Mason Dixon Meltdown at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, NC. The action packed schedule includes rotating practice on Friday, November 22 and a full day of practice, qualifying, and racing on Saturday, November 23.
“We wanted to make sure and get this schedule out in plenty of time since this is such a big event for our fans and competitors,” said PASS President Tom Mayberry. “The Mason Dixon Meltdown has grown to be one of the biggest events of the fall for short track racers and we wanted to make sure and get everything started early enough for fans and racers who might be traveling from far away. In addition to crowning the PASS National, PASS South, and PASS Pro Late Model champions, having the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Cars on hand has made this race even more special.”
Friday’s rotating practice sessions will be open to all divisions competing at Southern National Motorsports Park as part of the 8th Annual Mason Dixon Meltdown weekend with pit gates opening at Noon and practice from 2-5 PM. On Saturday November 23rd, pit gates will open early at 9:45 AM, with rotating practice for the PASS South Super Late Models, PASS Pro Late Models, Must See Racing Xtreme Sprints, and Mini Cups from 10:45 AM to 1 PM.
Qualifying will start at 1:30 PM to determine the starting line-up for the PASS South Super Late Models and PASS Pro Late Models. That will be followed by time trials for the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprints as the 900 horsepower Winged Sprint Cars mount their assault on Southern National Motorsports Park’s overall track record.
Racing will begin at 3 PM with the last chance races for the PASS South Super Late Models and heat races for the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprints, followed by a 75 lap feature for the PASS Pro Late Models and a 20 lapper for the Mini Cups. The afternoon will conclude with 200 green flag laps in the Mason Dixon Meltdown for the PASS South Super Late Models and 30 laps under the lights for the Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Cars.
